We propose a new idea of Cooking Course.
You’ll live in the famous historical centre of Lucca, an old medieval town where you’ll get in touch with the old flavours and traditions of a little Tuscan Town and where you’ll appreciate a lifestyle which will take you back to the old times combined with the present where people go to work by bike,
where children play in the squares and where cars are not allowed…..
You’ll see and probably after your stay you’ll understand better our
SLOW LIFE AND SLOWFOOD….tradition.
1st Day
Arrival at Pisa and transfer by deluxe minivan to the Hotel.
Our tour leader will welcome the group at the airport.
Transfer to the San Luca Palace, 4 Star Superior Hotel located in the Historical centre of Lucca. The Hotel is the fruit of a very rigorous restoration of an old Palace (dating back to 1540) ended in 2007. The hotel has a refined elegant style and there you’ll enjoy the typical atmosphere of a quite old town. The Hotel is magnificent furnished and equipped technologies an high comforts. Close to the Hotel there are some excellent restaurants, shops and craftsmanship’s workshops.
Welcome dinner in a Typical restaurant in the centre of Lucca with the famous chef Giuseppe Mazzocchi who will introduce you to the idea of our course.
2nd Day
After breakfast first cooking course with Giuseppe in a professional kitchen in the historical centre followed by a lunch with the prepared dishes.
In the afternoon guided walking tour of the town of Lucca.
The guided tour of Lucca with your English speaking guide lasts approximately 2/3 hours; the visit is done on foot. Famous in the world for its walls surrounding the old town, Lucca has conserved its medieval character during the centuries. You’ll enjoy the unique atmosphere of this town where past and present live harmoniously…..walk through the medieval streets, admire the Palaces, the renaissance gardens, the Piazzas with its friendly cafés. The tour leads to discover the main monuments of the city: the town Walls perfectly preserved, the Cathedral of S. Martino, the Amphitheatre square, and the Guinigi tower.
Free dinner. Overnight.
3rd Day
Breakfast and free time in the morning.
After the free lunch departure by motor coach to the famous area of Garfagnana, a fascinating valley trough the mountains north of Lucca where we will admire a valley rich of culture and we will discover a fascinating world of traditions like the cheese production, local sausages and other well known artisan made Slow food delicacies.
Lunch in a typical trattoria After lunch visit of the historical villages of Castelnuovo and Barga, dominating by the main church on the hilltop. You’ll get a glimpse on how life was in the old times through narrow and steep alleys and enjoy the view of the mountains around the valley.
Return to Lucca in the early evening and Pizza dinner in a local Pizzeria.
4th Day
After breakfast and morning with Giuseppe to discover together the old shops of the town of Lucca and visit at the local ancient Market to buy together the ingredients for the second cooking course with Giuseppe in the Kitchen in the historical centre followed by a dinner with the prepared dishes. (lunch free)
After dinner overnight .
5th Day
Breakfast and FREE DAY for individual activities (possibility to choose one of the following optional tours)
Early evening visit of a wonderful ENOTECA in the centre of Lucca, you’ll discover an unexpected world in the underground Lucca where you’ll taste local wines and local snacks. Free dinner.
6th Day
After breakfast third cooking course with Giuseppe followed by a lunch with the prepared dishes.
Free afternoon and Special Farewell dinner in a Villa on the hills of Lucca where you’ll also have a special olive oil tasting followed by a very cosy dinner in this exclusive location with a real Lucchese touch. Return by minivan to the Hotel and overnight.
7th Day
Breakfast and departure by private Luxury motor coach to Pisa Airport .
